What we can do for you

What we repair
We offer a comprehnsive breakdown and maintenance service on a very wide range of laboratory equipment, ranging from humble hot plates, mixers, incubators, centrifuges and the like through to complex chemistry and haematology analysers. Ever heard of a Ring and Ball Tester? No! Neither had I untill I was asked to fix one. It is a device to measure the viscosity of heated bitumen. The repair was routine.

What we don't repair
Though we repair and service microscopes we do not repair complex research microscopes and balances with the exception of associated electrics such power supplies and light sources. We do however use the services of very competent technicians for sophisticated optics and balances. We can arrange the repairs for you or pass on their contact details.

Where?
Repairs are carried out in our workshop at Greenslopes or on your site depending on the location, the size of the equipment and the nature of the repair. It is cost effective to courier small items to us. Phone Kathy for assistance.

When?
We endeavour to respond to "urgent" requests promptly. This is generally sameday or better. If your request is not urgent we will arrange a mutually convenient time to attend your site.

What else?
Labtronics can assist you in establishing a program of routine preventative maintence on your vital laboratory instruments. We are currently involved in extensive maintenance programs for the Australian Defense Forces and the Queensland Government.

Need laboratory equipment?
We do not sell laboratory equipment but we will endeavour to put you in touch with someone who can assist you. From time to time some of our clients have found it expedient to purchase instruments through our accounts. We have been able to negotiate attractive pricing.

We bill in one quarter hour increments with a minimum workshop charge of three quarters of an hour and a minimun call out charge of one and one half hours.

Our repairs are warrantied for 60 days on the faults that we address unless the fault is of an intermittent nature.
We do not give fixed quotes due to the very complex nature of electronics. We give estimates based on our experience. These estimates may vary in practice. If the repair turns out to be more expensive than we anticipated we will advise you before proceeding. If the repair turns out to be less than we anticipated, this will be reflected in our bill. We cannot give "free" quotes involving a field call out, nor can we "quote" over the phone wihout a proper inspection of the failed item.
